"For us, ‘A Silent Night’ is about celebrating the joy and wonder of the Christmas story in a way that can be shared in households around the country," said Luke and Joel Smallbone of for KING + COUNTRY. The special was first released in theaters in 2021.
“A Silent Night at Museum of the Bible” tells the story of a drummer boy who searches for the manger at the Museum of the Bible. As the song goes, he’s too poor to bring a gift to the newborn king so he decides to play his drums for him. The film is set to music from the for KING + COUNTRY Christmas album, “A Drummer Boy Christmas,” and features clips from “The Chosen” highlighting the Christmas story.
"We're thrilled to be celebrating the birth of Jesus in this festive and creative way, and we hope you'll come along with us and families watching online this holy season," the brothers added.
Luke Smallbone’s son, Phoenix, plays the role of the Drummer Boy in the film.
“At a very young age, Phoenix stated he felt God’s love when he played his drums—a very profound thing for a toddler to say,” Luke wrote with a photo of his son he recently posted on Instagram. “It’s amazing to watch children grow and unfold into who they are.… Now he’s the real-life drummer boy on this Christmas tour with me—side by side. Giving our gifts back to the one who gave them to us.”
“A Silent Night at Museum of the Bible” also features a performance by Franni Rae Cash Cain of We The Kingdom.
“A memory I will never forget!” Cain said recently about filming “A Silent Night.” “So grateful to have been a part of this special, special evening!!”
