In fact, Bure and Great American Family CEO Bill Abbott, recently held a special screening of “My Christmas Hero” at Joint Army and Air Force Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state, where the film is set.

"It’s a joy to be here. We've met many people, [with] huge smiles on their faces, which are bringing us so much joy,” Bure said about the event. "They really are appreciative that we honor faith, family and country and that we are pro-country and we love America and we're grateful for their service.”

In “My Christmas Hero,” Bure plays Nicole Ramsey, a US Army reservist and orthopedic physician who serves military service members at JBLM. As Christmas nears, Ramsey sets out on a mission to honor a special fallen soldier, and she gets some much-needed help from a handsome new patient.

“To be able to celebrate Christmas and this movie with the everyday heroes who selflessly serve our country was truly special for both Candace and me,” Abbott said. “‘My Christmas Hero’ is at the heart of who we are as a network.”

Since joining Great American Family as chief creative officer last year, Bure has put great emphasis on creating films that are faith forward and family friendly. “My Christmas Hero” is truly a heartwarming story that is meant to bring people together and celebrate those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

“I know it means a lot to [our service members] that we honor them and we want to in really big ways because we know that we wouldn't be here in peace without them,” Bure noted. “So this is just a small gesture of appreciation on our end … And it's a place where their whole family can come to watch the movie tonight. And that's special for us because that's who our movies are for, the whole family together."

“My Christmas Hero” will be available for streaming on Great American Pure Flix starting December 1.
