Nurse Prayers

Bible Verse for Healing Sickness: “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” - 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NIV)

We will get into some important options to utter a prayer for healing, but before we get into healing prayers let's explore some examples of nurse prayers for peace, inspiration and strength during this difficult time.

Doctor and Nurse Prayer for Peace

This prayer for peace can offer solace for nurses and doctors who face uncertainty on the front lines. Unlike some of the more traditional healing prayers, this is an invocation for strength and guidance amid confusion and chaos.

Lord, please help the nurses and doctors working on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis. I ask that You provide the peace only You can offer to these brave men and women. Please guide them and sustain them. In the difficult moments, please show Your face and shower them with the love that only You can provide. I pray for their protection amid this chaos. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Doctor and Nurse Prayer for Healing

This prayer for healing is intended to be offered on behalf of doctors and nurses who are facing coronavirus diagnoses as a result of their work. This is just one of the healing prayers you can utter:

Lord, we thank You for the brave men and women who have selflessly placed themselves in harm's way in an effort to help heal the sick. We pray that You would guide and sustain those who have fallen ill as a result of this work. Please heal then, please protect them and please sustain them during this difficult time. We pray, Lord, that You would help heal this tragic situation, and protect our healthcare workers who are in the line of fire.

Prayers for Healing

Bible Verse for Healing Sickness: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” -Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

We will also explore some more basic and general prayers for healing that you can utter for others who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Unlike each nurse prayer above, these prayers focus more on the general public.

COVID-19 Prayer for Healing: General

This is one of the healing prayers for those in the general public who are struggling as a result of COVID-19. Please take a moment to offer healing prayers for these people:

Lord, we thank You for the blessings we see, even despite the chaos before us. Lord, please heal those who have been impacted by this virus. We offer this prayer for healing in hopes that these individuals will find reprieve from the illness. Please guide them, sustain them and show them Your face throughout their struggles. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Healing Prayers for Grieving Family Members

In addition to a nurse prayer or healing prayers for the afflicted, it's also important to offer invocations for family members of the afflicted. Considering that there are people who are unable to be with ailing loved ones, a prayer for healing is warranted:

Lord, I ask for Your peace and comfort for those people who are suffering -- people whose loved ones are suffering from COVID-19. Some of these individuals cannot be with their loved ones in hospitals and nursing homes. I pray that You would give these people peace and guidance, and that You would hold them in Your hand as they journey through these unprecedented times. We also pray for the afflicted who are missing their loved ones as they heal. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Another similar prayer for healing for those who have lost a loved one can also be offered:

God, please come alongside those who have lost a friend or loved one and are grieving. I offer these healing prayers on behalf of these people and I ask for Your supernatural peace as they grieve. Lord, please show Your face — and Your love — to these people. Please also guide them as they make difficult life decisions and journey through their new normal. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
