There’s a lot happening behind the scenes as we prepare to launch Pure Flix Familia next month, and we’re excited to share more about two people who will play an important role in bringing it to life.
Great American Media is expanding its partnership with Minivela, founded by media entrepreneur Manny Ruiz and actor and producer Carlos Ponce.
Manny and Carlos have spent decades working in Latino media and entertainment, but just as important, they know the community because they are part of it. They’ve built relationships with Latino audiences, creators and communities throughout their careers, and that experience will help shape Pure Flix Familia from the very beginning.
Manny will work closely with the Great American Media and Pure Flix teams on programming, original content and relationships with Latino creators and producers. Carlos will bring his experience in front of and behind the camera to help develop talent, stories and ways to connect with audiences.
Carlos summed it up well:
“Authenticity begins by ensuring that the people and communities we hope to serve have a meaningful voice in the creative process.”
That’s important to us.
When Pure Flix Familia launches, families will find Spanish-language entertainment rooted in faith and family. Over time, that will grow to include bilingual and English-language programming created and curated for Latino audiences.
We want Pure Flix Familia to be a place where families find stories that feel familiar, reflect what matters to them and, most importantly, are something they can enjoy together.
