As we approach Labor Day, it’s important to remember to keep faith at the center of everything we do.
It is so easy to get wrapped up in the tasks list and deadlines and forget the purpose of the achievements we seek every day. This Labor Day, take a moment to reflect on how you are incorporating your faith into the workflow you use. Below are five starting ways to incorporate and honor God in your workday.
1. Start With Prayer
Posturing yourself to have a positive day starts at the forefront, by spending time with God.
Every morning at 5am, you can find personalized morning prayers written just for you by the Great American team. Read them with us everyday here on Great American Journal.
Starting your day with prayer is a simple way to put God at the center of everything you do. Before the busyness begins, take a moment to thank Him, seek His guidance, and place your plans and worries in His hands. Prayer reminds us that we don’t have to face the day alone—God is with us, leading, strengthening, and giving us peace. When we begin our day with Him, we can move forward with greater faith, purpose, and confidence.
2. Make a Meaningful Difference
Being reflective of your faith at work doesn’t mean being the loudest in the room. Your workplace can be the area where your character shines for you. You can have integrity, honesty, diligence, and humility. There is always room for contributing, creating, providing, and caring for others in ways that seem ordinary or unseen. When we invite God into our work, He can use even the smallest acts to make a meaningful difference.
3. Connect With Your Purpose
Your identity is rooted in being God’s creation, and belonging to the path laid out for you. The purpose you are intended will find you through your faithfulness and trust in God’s plan.
4. Remember Your Roots
Success can be defined in many ways, but staying faithful to God and trusting His purpose should always come first. There will be imperfect seasons and new seasons of blessings, but if you continue to pursue excellence without letting success become a distraction, you can remain focused on God and open to His direction for your life.
5. Honor the Rest Day
God invites you to trust Him with your work and your purpose. Work diligently, rest without feeling guilty, posture your attitude, balance your day, and continue to pursue the path God sets for you. Sabbath is not something we earn because we have exhausted ourselves from working through the week. It is an opportunity to take a break, breathe, and a time to lean into our faith.
We extend our prayers to everyone working day in and day out to provide for their families, protect communities, and pursue a faith-filled life.
Join us as we take the time on Labor Day to reflect on how we are honoring God through our actions every day.
