A Historic Week of Scripture Reading Takes Center Stage, Only on Great American Pure Flix

America marks 250 years of independence, a powerful national moment is unfolding in the heart of Washington, DC. From April 18–25, nearly 500 voices are coming together for America Reads the Bible, a continuous public reading of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation at the historic Museum of the Bible.

For seven full days, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, leaders from ministry, entertainment, public service, and communities across the country are stepping forward one by one to read the Bible aloud. There are no panels. No commentary. No debate. Just the Word of God, shared openly and read in its entirety.

Organized around the theme “One Week. One Nation. One Book.”, America Reads the Bible invites Americans everywhere to pause and reflect during this historic year. In a culture that often feels hurried and divided, this week offers something different, time to slow down and listen to words that have shaped lives, families, and the broader American story for generations.

The week begins with an Opening Ceremony at National Community Church and continues daily at the Museum of the Bible. For those unable to attend in person, the entire event will be live streamed nationally on Great American Pure Flix, making it accessible to families, churches, schools, and individuals across the country.

Whether you watch for a few minutes or follow along each day, this is an opportunity to reconnect with Scripture in a simple, meaningful way.
