Meet The Characters of Brookfield: A When Hope Calls Story

Written By Natalie Zadrima

With the newest Pure Flix original series, travel back in time to 1916's Western Canada, where we find the quaint settlement of Brookfield: a place full of hope, new beginnings, and budding connections.

The scenic town sets the backdrop,  but the essence of this series is the neighborly community.  And, while there might be some familiar faces from the world of When Hope Calls, the stories of four new characters are introduced and explored in this exclusive offering, now streaming on Pure Flix.

The town first welcomes lawyer Nora Anderson (Cindy Busby), who creates some buzz in Brookfield upon her mysterious arrival. Claiming she has personal business with Lillian Walsh, who runs the local orphanage and was once an orphan herself, Nora rides into town from neighboring Clearwater, with little intention of staying long. But, through a series of unexpected connections, Nora finds herself growing fond of Brookfield. But, this lawyer isn't the only newcomer in town who is experienced in upholding the law.

Michael Fletcher

Enter Mountie Michael Fletcher, played by Christopher Russell. He arrives in Brookfield to take over the post that Mountie Gabriel previously presided over, quickly establishing himself in the town as a well-respected leader and protector of the community. He was one of Mountie Gabriel’s training instructors at the academy and causes some rumblings in town with talk of legends of his past triumphs. Though his reputation is famed, he is humble and reserved, focused on protecting and caring for the community above everything else.

Hannah Lawrence

While Hannah Lawrence (portrayed by Sarah Fisher) isn’t brand new to town, she is returning to Brookfield for the first time since her childhood. After many years away, she inherits her late Uncle Ray Lawrence’s ranch. She grew up coming to Brookfield each summer to spend time with her uncle -- riding horses and connecting with the land. Now a dress designer in the big city of St. Louis, very much removed from the rural lifestyle of her youth, she's thrown back into the ranching world as she makes arrangements to sell the inherited property. While dealing with the loss of her uncle and attempting to let go of this piece of her childhood, she finds community and connection in the unlikeliest of places.

Wyatt Parker

Wyatt Parker (Nick Bateman) has always lived in Brookfield, though he is still a mystery to most. Born and raised in this small town, he was the foreman on Ray Lawrence’s ranch but now faces uncertainty as it has been inherited by his niece, Hannah. Given her need to sell the property, his job may be in jeopardy, which causes some uneasiness among the ranch hands and becomes a point of contention between Wyatt and Hannah. But, beyond his brooding demeanor is Wyatt's unwavering commitment to the things he holds dear.
