It’s official: our family is now bigger and better! Following a merger earlier this year, today is our first day with our new name: Great American Pure Flix, the streaming arm of Great American Media.
So what does this mean for you? Our longtime friend Shari Rigby, the director of the new Great American Pure Flix Original movie “Divine Influencer,” sat down with Bill Abbott, the president and CEO of Great American Media, to help you know what you can expect to see on the platform and to learn about our Great American Pure Flix Pledge to clean streaming.
“I think for viewers, it's going to create a much bigger array of quality content and choices,” Bill told Shari. “Already on Great American Family, we’ve premiered a number of Pure Flix projects that have done very well and the reaction has been spectacular from viewers. We're very proud of the additional content that we'll have as a result of the merger.”
Abbott said Great American Pure Flix members will have a plethora of high-quality, clean content to stream across a variety of genres. When Abbott discussed with Shari how he and his team select content, he promised Great American Media’s core values will be at the center for Great American Pure Flix content: faith, family and hometown values.

“First and foremost, we are all about quality. In addition to that, it's really celebrating Americana and celebrating faith, family, and hometown values,” Abbott said. “We want to uplift people who hold these elements close, and make people feel good about their faith again and going to church and being part of a community. That's really important to all of us.”

Great American Community features Great American Family’s world-class talent and well-known experts in a variety of original short-form videos, discussing a wide range of topics, including devotionals, behind-the-scenes, DIY, and much more. And now, you’ll find many of the Great American Community’s videos streaming on Great American Pure Flix.
“Having that dialogue with other like-minded people who are also looking to be supportive will be a terrific addition to Great American Pure Flix,” he said. “So whether that's a daily devotional, or whether that's a book club, or whether that's as simple as somebody who is part of our talent and our stable of stars putting up their Christmas lights and showing you how to do it, we think that will really be an added-value bonus that subscribers will enjoy.”
And speaking of added-value bonuses, Bill shared this about the new Great American Pure Flix:
“We're much stronger together than we are separate. And being able to share content across different experiences and different platforms is something that makes an awful lot of sense.”
