Faith took center stage on this season of American Idol and we love to see it! Several contestants, including finalists, openly shared their Christian beliefs throughout the competition, reminding viewers that faith can still have a place in entertainment.
One standout this season was Jordan McCullough, Tennessee worship leader, who started his journey on American Idol with auditioning with a rendition of Cece Winans “Goodness of God”. “We can wait for people to go to church all day, but I am the church so I get to bring the church to them,” says Jordan McCullough.
Hannah Harper, another contestant who performed “At the Cross” by Hillsong Worship, was open about her faith and how she grew up in church and how it was an honor to bring faith into this platform.
Another contestant/finalist making an impact was Keyla Richardson, who stated, “I’m glad that we can be open about our faith. I love God, and that’s who I love.”
We love seeing artists boldly share their faith on a national stage, and this season of American Idol was a refreshing reminder that uplifting, faith-filled stories still resonate with audiences everywhere.
