Faith, Family, and Country: Values Our Veterans Protect

By Sabrina Novacov

Every Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. But beyond their courage on the battlefield, there’s something even more enduring they protect — the very heart of who we are as Americans: faith, family, and country.

For many veterans, service is more than duty — it’s a calling. It’s the willingness to step forward so others can live in peace. Their faith gives them strength in the unknown, their love for family gives them reason to keep going, and their belief in freedom reminds us that the blessings we enjoy are made possible by those who serve.

When veterans return home, those same values continue to guide them. They coach Little League, serve in their churches, volunteer at local charities, and remind us of what truly matters. Their lives become living examples of what it means to love one’s neighbor and to serve our country.

This Veterans Day, let’s remember that the freedom we enjoy every day exists because of those who have stood guard for it. May we honor them not only with words, but by living out the values they defend: keeping faith at the center, holding family close, and cherishing the freedom that unites us all.
