How Faith is Represented in Super Bowl Commercials

There is more to life than more, and one Super Bowl commercial reminded us that Jesus will show us the way.

That commercial, from He Gets Us, is among our favorite in the hyper-commercialized annual event that determines the champion of the National Football League. The Big Game has become just as popular for its commercial entertainment through 30- and 60-second television ads that cost millions of dollars to both produce and air on the major networks that carry the Super Bowl.

We thought we might share with you some of our favorite commercials from Super Bowl LX reflecting our shared values of faith, family and country.

A few of our favorites, mostly produced by non-profits with uplifting organizations, are below:

Is There More To Life Than More?

He Gets Us is a faith-centered campaign created to reintroduce people to the story of Jesus Christ and invite anyone to explore his life and teachings. During Super Bowl LX, the campaign aired its fourth consecutive Big Game commercial, a 60-second spot titled “Is there more to life than more?” that juxtaposes fast-paced images of people chasing material success, constant social media attention and “more” with a quieter, contemplative ending that prompts viewers to consider whether Jesus offers a path to deeper satisfaction beyond the endless pursuit of possessions, concluding with the on-screen message, “There’s more to life than more.”

The Girl In The Middle

From adoption public awareness organization Adoption. Is, “TheGirl in the Middle” depicts a young woman caught in the middle of the polarized political debate that suggests only two choices, and then asserts that adoption is an option, offering a third path of hope, support, and life-affirming choice amidst pressures on all sides. Adoption isn’t “giving up” but a courageous and loving choice, and emphasizing that women can choose a family, the level of openness they want, and the kind of life they envision for their child.

Ring - "Be a Hero in Your Neighborhood"

Ring’s Search Party Super Bowl ad is a solid effort that taps into the best of community spirit, encouraging neighbors to look out for one another and “be a hero in your neighborhood” by staying vigilant and connected. The spot’s emphasis on everyday heroism and collective goodwill earned a respectful nod this year, even if we thought it could have pushed its message a bit further. That said, its themes resonate with the spirit behind our own Great American Rescue Bowl, which airs annually before the Big Game and celebrates lifesaving work across the country. Maybe next year we should give Ring a call about partnering on a spot that elevates rescue, service, and heart even more -- now that would be a game-day message worth watching.

Lay’s -“The Last Harvest”

Finally, we applaud Lay’s for their “The Last Harvest” commercial which really pulled at our heart strings by choosing meaning over spectacle and celebrity cameos. Centered on a father and daughter working on their family land together as one generation prepares to pass the farm to the next, the spot taps into a universal hope shared by families everywhere: the dream of handing something we love -- a family farm, a business, a tradition --to those who come after us. By honoring hard work, heritage, and the dignity of building something that lasts, Lay’s delivered a message that aligns naturally with Great American Media’s celebration of faith, family, and generational continuity. In a night crowded with noise, this commercial succeeded by reminding viewers that the most meaningful stories are often the simplest ones -- rooted in love, responsibility, and the bonds that carry us forward.
