Faith took center stage all season long on American Idol — and last night’s finale was the perfect ending to a season filled with worship and Christian faith.

After weeks of unforgettable performances, Hannah Harper was officially crowned the winner of Season 24 in an emotional finale that had viewers celebrating not only incredible talent, but the presence of faith on national television. To close out the season, Hannah delivered a moving performance of “At The Cross,” bringing a heartfelt moment of worship to millions watching at home. The performance perfectly captured what made this season so unique — artists openly sharing their beliefs and using their platform to glorify God through music.

Runner-up Jordan McCullough also delivered one of the most talked-about moments of the night with his performance of “The Goodness of God.” What began as a finale performance quickly turned into a worship moment, with all three judges visibly moved and worshipping along from the panel.

Throughout the season, Jordan — who is also a worship leader — openly spoke about his faith journey, alongside finalist Keyla Richardson, who also shared her Christian beliefs throughout the competition. Many viewers online described the season as a refreshing return to faith-filled entertainment and a reminder that there is still space for uplifting, inspiring content in mainstream media.

One of the season’s biggest highlights came during the now widely discussed “Songs of Faith” night, where the Top 14 performed gospel and worship songs in what many called one of the most faith-centered episode in recent American Idol history. The episode reportedly featured an hour of openly Christian music, creating a powerful and encouraging experience for audiences.

Judge Carrie Underwood also played a major role in encouraging contestants to stay true to their beliefs. Throughout the season, Carrie expressed how proud she was of artists willing to bring their faith into the entertainment industry and encouraged them not to shy away from sharing who they are.
