What if God’s voice was closer than you think—whispering peace, direction, and hope into your everyday life? That’s the heart behind author Isik Abla’s 365-day devotional, Heavenly Whispers. Filled with heartfelt prayers, daily encouragement, and reminders of God’s nearness, this devotional is all about tuning into the gentle whispers of His Spirit. We sat down with Isik to talk about the inspiration behind the book, how God speaks to her personally, and the life-changing power of listening closely to His voice.

Q: What inspired you to write the 365-Day Devotional Heavenly Whispers?

A: I was inspired by the reality that God is always speaking, but so often, our hearts are too crowded with noise to hear Him. My own journey taught me that breakthrough doesn’t always come in thunder and lightning—it often comes in the gentle, daily whispers of His Spirit. I wanted to create a devotional that helps people encounter those whispers every single day, in the middle of their ordinary lives.

Q: For those who haven’t read it yet, how did you choose the title Heavenly Whispers and how would you describe what it means in your own life?

The title came during prayer. I felt the Lord say, “My voice is not far—it is as close as a whisper.” To me, Heavenly Whispers means that God speaks to the tender, hidden places of our hearts. His voice is intimate, gentle, yet powerful enough to heal, correct, and align us with His love.

Q: Are there particular passages that you feel God placed on your heart to share?

A: Yes, there are several devotionals where the Holy Spirit strongly impressed His heartbeat. One is about surrendering our idols—because often, what we cling to most tightly is what keeps us from freedom. Another is about God’s love for the brokenhearted. Those passages flowed from deep seasons of my own life where I had to trust God to hold me when everything else was falling apart.

Q: Do you have a favorite prayer that is included in your book?

A: One of my favorites is the prayer that simply says: “Lord, help me to hear You more than I hear the world, and love You more than I fear my future.” It’s simple, but it carries the cry of a surrendered heart. That prayer has been mine again and again.

Q: What advice would you give to someone listening for their own Heavenly Whispers in life?

A: I would say: don’t wait for fireworks. Whispers are intimate, and they require stillness. Create room in your day for silence. Open the Scriptures, invite the Spirit, and let God surprise you with how personal His voice is. He may not always tell you what you want to hear, but He will always give you what your soul needs.

Q: Are there any upcoming projects or topics you’re excited to explore next?

A: Yes, I’m currently working on new projects that go deeper into healing, resilience, and legacy—helping people not only recover from wounds, but step boldly into their God-given destiny. I also sense the Lord leading me to write about spiritual identity in greater depth—helping people break free from labels the world has placed on them and walk in the truth of who they really are in Christ.

Biography: Işık Abla was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and raised in a devout Muslim home. Her early life was marked by intense hardship, as verbal and physical abuse shaped much of her childhood. In 1996, she fled to the United States seeking freedom and safety. After years of trauma and despair, she descended into deep depression and became suicidal. On the very day she planned to end her life, God interrupted her darkness with light. Işık encountered Jesus Christ in a personal and supernatural way, surrendered her life to Him, and received His healing, redemption, and restoration. That moment changed everything. Her life became a testimony of miraculous transformation. Obeying the call to full-time ministry, Işık attended the Ambassador’s Commission School of Ministry and became an ordained minister. She pursued further theological and leadership training through Yale University, Harvard University, and advanced Biblical studies in Israel under Jewish rabbis. Her depth in Hebrew and Torah brings unique richness and authority to her ministry. Today, Işık’s voice reaches the nations. Her programs are broadcast in multiple languages across six continents, impacting over 700 million people in more than 200 countries, tribes, and people groups. Her message is simple but powerful: There is hope. There is healing. There is redemption in Jesus Christ.
